We regret to inform you that Greg Rizik, Book #1078890, passed away May 20, 2006. His death was sudden, unexpected and not job related. He was born on February 21, 1951. Brother Rizik joined Iron Workers Local 86 in April 1982.

Next Local 86 regular meeting will be June 15, Thursday 7pm at the Labor Temple, 2800 1st Ave, Seattle. No meeting in August.
Local 86 Numbers: 1202 Journeymen, 333 Apprentices, 227 Pensioners, 195 Honorary, 1 Military

The District Council Apprenticeship competition was held in Portland on May 19th & 20th. 8 apprentices, 2 from each local competed for cash, prizes and trophies. Ron Howell Jr. and Ben Walz placed 1 and 2. They will represent Local 86 at the International Competition scheduled for September in St. Louis. Job well done.

On Wednesday July 5, to maintain your name on the out of work list, you must come to the hiring hall and sign-in between 7am and 9am. Sign in will be declared complete at 9am. Sign in by phone is not an option. If you will be unable to come to the hiring hall on Wednesday, you may fax #206.439.1069 or email tabiggins@hotmail.com your request to remain on the out of work list on Monday July 3 or Tuesday July 4. Members that do not sign in will be removed from the out of work list and will be required to contact dispatch to have their name placed back on the list.
